Analysis of Yocoair

CHEMICAL AND SENSORY ANALYSIS OF A PRODUCT FOR ODOUR ELIMINATION
Objective

The present report present the results of chemical and sensory analysis concerning the effect of a product for odour elimination called "Yocoair" in different simulated environments. The product arrived at Linköping University December, 23,1994.

Summary

Chemical and sensory analysis was performed with the product, Yocoair, in order to study its effect to eliminate organic compounds in diesel oil, tobacco smoke and enamel paint.

Sensory analysis showed that the product was effective on the three samples, but most effectively reduced the compounds present in diesel oil and tobacco smoke. In addition the effect of the product increased with time.

Chemical analysis demonstrated an eliminating effect of many different classes of organic compounds. Yocoair demonstrated a limited capacity to adsorb very volatile compounds, which might explain the lower efficiency for the enamel paint, containing a large amount of very volatile compounds.
